The Ogden Mustangs are pleased to announce the signing of Defensemen Sean Lenahan for the 2022-2023 season. Lenahan aims to further his development at the junior level, “My goal for this season is to improve on what I was able to accomplish with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers 18s and continue my success in Ogden.”
“Lenahan is appealing to us for multiple reasons” Orlando states. “Obviously he has something you can’t teach, his size. His powerful stride and reach with his stick are unique parts of his game. We like that he plays both sides of the puck which fits in well with our current style on the back end. Sean will be challenged with the strength in our defensive core and it’s going to make him have to play his best every night. He has a very high ceiling.”
When asked about his game, Lenahan adds, “I’m a two-way defenseman who can jump in the play at any time and help in transition and on the rush. I don’t let that sacrifice shutting down on the back end either.”
Lenahan spent the last two seasons on the blue line for the Connecticut Jr. Rangers U18 AAA. He enjoyed winning the USPHL U18 AAA championship in 2022 and was a big factor in the team’s success.
The New York resident will arrive in Utah on Saturday. “I decided to join the Mustangs because I think it is a professional, top-notch organization that would give me a chance to compete for a National Title and further my hockey career.” Lenahan concludes.
