The Ogden Mustangs are proud to announce the signing of Forward Jacob Williams for the 2022-2023 season. The Waterford, Michigan resident can’t wait to arrive in Utah. He states, “It doesn’t get much better than playing in a town like Ogden and
in a barn like we have.”
Coach Orlando is a big fan of William’s game, “We watch the Michigan hockey closely and Jacob was a guy that stood out to us throughout the year. He plays the game heavy and hard but has the skill to match. Players benefit from playing with Jacob and I’m excited to see his skills put to the test in our tough division. We want to continue to push his pace of play and
decision-making skills, which are very good already, to the next level.”
Williams adds, “I consider myself a power forward who will put the work in on the offensive and defensive side of the puck. I’m a pass first type of player but will put the puck in the back of the net when I get my chances.”
Williams has played on many of the strongest AAA youth hockey teams in Michigan, ending last season with the Little Caesars U18 program. He found the net 18 times and added 17 assists to his total in 79 games playing against some of the toughest competition at the U18 level in the United States.
“A personal goal for me this season is to try to average a point per game. I also want to improve every aspect of my game throughout the season whether that’s on the ice or off the ice.” Williams concludes.
