The Ogden Mustangs are pleased to announce the return of star Defensemen Luke Faas for the 2022-2023 season. Luke can’t wait to get to work this year, stating, “The reason I chose to return to the Mustangs is the organization is top-notch in every aspect and the fans are always rowdy.”
Last season as a rookie, Luke developed his game quickly, which blossomed into a Mustangs mainstay position on the blue line. He was relied on in all situations and helped supplement the forwards in offensive production. Faas marked 10 goals and 27 assists for 37 points in 42 games and was at the top of the teams +/- category. Faas adds, “I consider myself an offensive defenseman who makes a good first pass and likes to join the rush.”
Coach Orlando has high expectations of Faas. He states, “Luke is coming back with a lot of confidence after a strong rookie season. We expect him to be someone that the rookies can lean on as they go through their first year of juniors. Luke certainly strengthens our group on the back end and makes us more well-rounded in all three zones. We will develop his puck and defending skills to new heights this season.”
Faas arrived yesterday from Eagle, Idaho. “Some personal goals I have for the season are being a team player day in and day out. I also want to improve my point production and be a consistent force on the blue line.” he concludes.
