The Ogden Mustangs are pleased to announce the return of star forward Jake Meure for the 2022-23 season. Meure has been a leader both in the locker room and in many of their statistical scoring categories over the last two seasons. Jake’s name is now climbing the ranks in Mustangs franchise history.
“I am a quick skilled forward that loves to pass the puck and set my teammates up for great chances to score.” The play develops in the Mustangs favor when Jake has the puck, which is proven by his 91 assists from 2020-2022. Jake added on 34 goals for a total of 125 points in 96 games. “Obviously I want to score and produce as much as possible but the only goal I am focused on is coming home with a National Championship” he says.
Coach Orlando is excited to challenge Meure to elevate his game before entering college hockey next year, “Jake is one of those guys who’s words always hold weight in our locker room. The guys look to him for guidance and leadership as they see his hockey intelligence. We plan on continuing to round out his game and work on the play without the puck which will better prepare him for college hockey.”
When asked about Ogden, Meure is quick to point out, “It feels like a second home. I’ve loved every second of playing in Ogden and after last year’s disappointing first round exit in overtime, the fire to win is as big as it’s ever been.”
