Beware of the Beattie!

The Mustangs are excited to announce the signing of Defensemen Carson Beattie for the 2022-2023 season. From his home in White Lake, Michigan, Carson explains, “What made me decide to play for the Ogden Mustangs is the amazing community along with a great fan base. It seems like the organization really takes care of their players, to make them feel at home along with the facility we get to use.”

Coach Kenny Orlando was energized to get Beattie inked up for the Mustangs back end, “Carson brings both sides of the game to the table. He can handle pucks and move them with pace. He is also able to be out against teams, higher-end guys, and successfully shut them down. Carson is a nice addition to our blue line and will be relied on to perform early. We’re looking for him to make that adjustment into juniors quickly.”

Beattie adds, “My play style is a two-way defenseman. I like to get up in the play and make something happen in the offensive zone. I’m also really good at shutting down the play, getting a puck, and moving it up ice quickly. I like to use my body to separate guys from the puck.”

Similar to recent signings Jacob Williams and Jack Day, Beattie has experience with some of top tier AAA programs in Michigan. Most recently playing for the Tri-State Spartans U18 AAA, Carson posted 9 assists in 23 games with a very effective two-way playing style. The Mustangs look to embrace Carson’s skillset and push him in his development.

“My personal goal this year is to work my hardest to become a better, more well-rounded player. I also want to take everything that the coaches teach me and apply that to

my game”, Beattie concludes.
