Mustangs add Minnesotan goalie from the NAHL

The Ogden Mustangs have added goaltender Travis Allen, who will join the team this weekend in Southern California for the Mustangs' series against the Ontario Avalanche.

Allen started this season with the St. Cloud Blizzard of the NAHL. Last season he spent time in the NAHL and NCDC. He played high school hockey for Centennial High School and helped lead his teams to the prestigious Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament.

In his final three games in the tournament in 2017-18, Allen put up a 1.33 goals against average and .907 save percentage.

Having played all of his previous hockey in the eastern United States, Allen is ready to now start a new chapter out west with the Mustangs.

"Words can't describe how excited I am to join such a great organization," Allen said. "I've seen a few things on social media about the team, but this will be a new experience for me. I'm excited to come in and be a difference maker and hopefully make an impact on the ice and in the community."

Allen stands at 5-feet-11-inches and 180 pounds. His hometown is Lino Lakes, Minn. Born in 2000, he'll have another season of junior hockey eligibility after this one.

Allen fills a roster spot that was vacated after the release of goaltender Mason Palmer. Allen will join Matthew Genter and Titan Anderson as the three current Ogden goalies.

You can watch Allen and the rest of the Mustangs this weekend on the road via Black Dog Hockey. There are some late, pacific-time starts this weekend, but remember the games are available to watch live or on demand.

The Mustangs go into the weekend with a perfect 14-0 record. If they can muster as sweep in this series, they'll have a chance to break the all-time franchise record winning streak on home ice during the Nov. 15-17 series against the Southern Oregon Spartans. Those home games will feature Military Appreciation Night and Movie Night. Be sure to join and share our event page to help us pack the house.
