Ogden Mustangs forward Shane Gilbert will return for his second season with the team and final season of junior hockey in 2019-20.
Gilbert had a solid first campaign last season, scoring 18 goals and adding 21 assists in 50 games. His remarkable speed up front was an important asset for the Mustangs all season long. He played big minutes especially as the season wore on, in the starting lineup for the majority of playoff games.
“I’ve been working hard all summer,” Gilbert said, “and I’m excited to build off last season’s success. I can’t wait to get the ball rolling with a great group of guys and see what we can accomplish this year.”
From Newport Beach, California, Gilbert stands at 6-feet and 180 pounds. He’s got good speed and good hands and sees the ice well. He’s can can up big in key moments, scoring a few huge goals last season.
Gilbert is the ninth returner from last season’s team whose return has been announced, with one more scheduled to come. He is the 21st player announced so far on the Mustangs’ 2019-20 roster.
