Nick Dreyer

Assistant Coach & Assistant General Manager

Dreyer returns to the Mustangs in 2021-2022 for his 2nd season. In Dreyer's first season with the Mustangs, he led the Penalty Kill to a very impressive 9th in the country for the USPHL, operating at 84.1%. Dreyer came from the Park City Ice Miners program where he was the Head Coach of the U16 team since 2017. During Dreyer's tenure at Park City, the Ice Miners were crowned as the Utah State Champions three consecutive seasons. In 2017, they lost the National Championship game finishing 2nd at the Tier II level. Dreyer has also served as Head Coach of the Farmington High School Hockey Program since its inception in 2018-19. In the two short years of the program's history, Dreyer has led the team to a 3rd-place finish in 2019 and 2nd-place in 2020.

 

Dreyer is a native of Waterloo, Illinois, and grew up in the greater St. Louis area. His coaching career began in 2013 at his former high school (Waterloo-Freeburg) where he was named the Head Coach and served until 2017. During the 2017 season, Dreyer led Waterloo-Freeburg to a State Championship appearance and finishing in 2nd-place.

 

During his career as a player, Dreyer attended McKendree University of ACHA-DI. He is the 2nd all-time leading scorer in McKendree University Men's Hockey program history.
